Japanese vs English One Piece Cards

Many One Piece collectors buy both languages. They share the same card codes and most of the same art, but they are separate products with their own prices.

Same card code, same artwork (mostly)

A card keeps its code in both languages, for example OP05-119, and most cards use the same artwork. The text, of course, is in a different language.

Japanese sets come out first

Sets usually release in Japan first and in English later, so Japanese cards are the first chance to own a new card. When the English version arrives, both versions keep trading separately.

Some cards exist in only one language

Certain promos, event prizes and special products are released in just one language, which makes those cards harder to find in the other.

Prices can go either way

Japanese copies are often cheaper raw, but not always, and graded prices can flip the other way:

Organised events have their own rules about which language is allowed. Check your event's rules before you bring a deck.

Are Japanese One Piece cards worth less than English ones?

Often, but not always. Some Japanese cards sell for less raw, while some Japanese graded copies sell for more than the English version. Check the price of the exact language and version.
